Wilma Wells, 66, died February 14, 2019.
Wilma Lawaune (nee Dorris) Wells was born on October 8, 1952 in Memphis, Tennessee to Wilburn Dorris Sr. of Coldwater, Mississippi and Minerva Thomas of Eads, Tennessee who preceded her in death.
She graduated from Hamilton High School in 1970 and earned her B.S. in Music Education from Tennessee State University in 1974. After she graduated, she briefly taught music in Nashville before returning to Memphis to care for her mother, retiring as an Executive Assistant from AC Humko foods.
She accepted Christ at an early age at Parkway Gardens Presbyterian Church. As an adult, she joined Bountiful Blessings Church of God in Christ under the pastoral guidance of Bishop G.E. Patterson.
On Thursday February 14th, Wilma departed this earthly life after battling health issues with amazing courage and strength.
Throughout her life she was a loving and compassionate person who had a love for life and a passion to help others in need.
She leaves behind her husband, Hamilton Wells; one daughter; three step daughters; one step son; three grandsons; one brother, Wilburn Dorris, Jr.; sister-in-law, Izumi Dorris; and host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
