Obituary for Tierra Perkins-Benton
Ms. Tierra Monique Benton-Perkins was born on September 5, 1993 to Brandon Perkins (Yolanda) and Chaundra Benton – Dennie. She departed this life on June 18, 2018.
Tierra Accepted Christ at a young age and was baptized at Unity Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Dandridge. She was a graduate of Whitehaven High School in Memphis, TN. She later went on to Fort Lauderdale, Florida to attend school at the Art Institute.
Tierra was a talented artist. She used her art and skill to express herself through beautiful pieces of artwork and sketches. Some of her pieces depicted her favorite sports teams such as the Colts and the Golden State Warriors.
She was preceded in death by three grandfathers, Wallace Tucker, Rev. Ernest Cunningham, and Silas Parham.
She leaves to cherish her memories her parents; three grandmothers, Jadene Johnson (Ronald), Linda Cunningham, and Shirley Parham; one grandfather, George Thornton; four sisters, Alexandra Benton, Tyera Cousins, Brianna Parham of Memphis, TN, Shavonta Perkins of Houston, TX; three brothers, Antonio Benton, Tevion Perkins, and Donta Dennie of Memphis, TN. She also leaves a very special aunt/guardian, Ms. Crystal Grafton of Coral Springs, Florida; also a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, and a special friend, Dewoyne Gwynn to cherish her memory.
