Obituary for Susie Mae Jones
Susie Mae Jones, 67, died November 17, 2018.
Our dear mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, sister-in-law, god-mother, and friend Susie Mae Jones received her wings on November 17, 2018. Susie was born to Henry Robinson and Eliza Childs on January 03, 1951 in Slaughter Mississippi. Both of her parents preceded her in death. She gave her life to Christ at an early age at Life Church of God in Christ, under the leadership of the late Pastor Elder Curly Hamilton. Later she united with New Directions Church under the leadership of Stacey L. Spencer.
She attended Manassas High School. She later met and Married Walter L. Jones who preceded her in death. She enjoyed doing the work of upholstery until her health failed her.
Susie was a loving and nurturing woman who unconditionally loved her family and friends. She most certainly loved the Lord. She had a big heart that was full of love and peace for people. She did not meet any strangers. She was always in good spirit no matter what life threw at her. Her favorite sayings where “I’m blessed and highly favored like we all are” and “be mindful.”
Her presence and memory will be forever cherished by her two daughters and son: Alicia A. Harris (Cornelius) , Quiana T. Morrow (Tavare) and Willie M. Jones (Cecily); Susie was preceded in death by her oldest son Monoleto Jones. 12 grandchildren, Quanicia, Shannon, Cierra, Demonte, Latiana, Jamerica, Kyara, Jarquavious, Myara, Faith, Donikia and Willie jr.; four great grandchildren: Taylar, Tailynn, LaDiyah and LaDeryion; two sisters, Annie Mae Strong(Robert) of Itta Bena Mississsippi, Sarah Davis (Calvin) of Memphis, TN; two brothers, Albert Kyles (Brenda) of Memphis, TN, Jesse Kyle’s (Sarah) of Memphis, TN, her oldest brother Roosevelt Rollen preceeded her in death; two sister-n-laws Minnie Johnson and Janet Dickerson (Joe); five brother n laws, Jesse Johnson, Mikal Hakeem, Rasheed Hakeem, Lieutenant Higgins, Nasheed Hakeem; one god-daughter, Latosha; one god-son, Martavious; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who she loved
