Obituary for Ronald Scurlock, Sr.
Ronald “Big Ron” Scurlock, Sr. was born June 10, 1949 to the late Hubert Scurlock and Florence Yancy. He spread his wings on Sunday, January 17, 2016. Ronald graduated salutatorian from Woodstock High School in Memphis.
Ronald was a proud retiree after 40 years of dedicated service to the Coca Cola Bottling Company of Memphis.
He was preceded in death by one son, Ronald Scurlock, Jr.; and a sister, Evelyn Griggs of Flint, Michigan.
Survived by his wife, Jean A. Scurlock; two daughters, Sonia Scurlock and Kandis Scurlock of Memphis, TN; three grandchildren, Kevin Scurlock (Kacie) of Junction City, KS, Skylar Scurlock and Dylan Scurlock of Memphis, TN.; four brothers, Willie Scurlock, Walter Scurlock, Donald Scurlock of Jacksonville, FL, and Spencer Scurlock (Marilyn) of Cincinnati, OH; one brother-in-law, James Crawford and one sister-in-law, Corean Hill of Seattle, WA. Also left to cherish his memory are a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends. We all will deeply miss a loving husband, father, brother, uncle and friend.
Visitation will be held from 10 -11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 23 2016 at Serenity Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 23, 2016 at Serenity Funeral Home.
Burial at Memorial Park Cemetery.
