Obituary for Rodney DeWayne Thomas, Sr.
Rodney DeWayne Thomas Sr., died December 10, 2018.
Mr. Rodney DeWayne Thomas Sr. was born April 19, 1987 to Pamela Moses and Ronald Thomas. He passed away on Monday, December 10, 2018 in Memphis, TN at the early age of 31. Rodney graduated from Trezevant high school and graduated in 2005. He attended college at the University of Memphis, majoring in Physical Education. As a child, Rodney attended Golden Gate Cathedral church, in Memphis, TN. On August 23, 2017 he married his lovely wife of 7 years, Sadonna Henderson. Together they had four children, Rodney Jr., DeWayne Jesus, Christianna & Jayden (Jay). Rodney held multiple jobs to support his family but his desire was to be a musician. He was a loving husband and father and was loved by all. While we know that he is at peace and that his struggles are at an end, there is pain and sadness in our hearts. But although he is gone, he has left the legacy of his love and perseverance. The ways he touched our lives will remain, and we ask that you keep those memories alive by sharing them with us and with one another.
One of the most important things in his life was socializing and living the dream of being a famous musician and song writer, and he took great pride in having family and friends around him. He actively participated in many sports during his younger years. He played football as a child and his favorite football team was the Philadelphia Eagles. He had several nicknames but the most used was King Mademan Hott & Big México. He will forever be missed.
Rodney leaves to cherish his memories, his loving wife, Sadonna, three sons, Rodney Thomas Jr., DeWayne Jesus Thomas & Jayden Cleaves and one daughter, Christianna Coleman all of Memphis, TN.
Rodney is survived by his mother, Pamela Moses (Nigel) Gregory, father, Ronald (Keva) Thomas, two brothers, Antonio (Reva) Thomas & Desmond Fondren, three sisters, Ronee’ Thomas, Raquesha Waddles & Nikesha (Nikki) Fondren all of Memphis, TN and one God sister, Xondrea (T.J.) Ware of Memphis, TN and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, relatives and friends.
