Richard Joseph Nichols, 37, died November 24, 2018.
Richard Joseph Nichols, age 37, resident of Bartlett TN departed this life early Saturday morning November 24, 2018 at his home.
Rick was born November 5th 1981 in Newark NY. Survived by his wife Natasha Smithers Nichols of Bartlett TN, formally of Fulton NY; Daughter Ella Grace Nichols age 5; parents Richard and Karen Nichols of Newark NY; Siblings Amy Nichols of Philadelphia PA, Maria Nichols of Newark NY, Brian Nichols of Pensacola FL; In-laws William and Ellen Smithers of Fulton NY; Grandmother Shirley Durkin of Nashville TN.
He was preceded in death by grandparents Richard D. Nichols, Amelia R. Nichols, and Joseph R. Durkin.
Rick worked as an Aquatic Director and swim coach at the Kroc Center in Memphis TN. He formally coached at Newark Central High varsity boys, Southern Utah Swim Association, and Memphis Thunder. From 2005-2015 he was the Property and Casualty insurance manager for Nichols Financial Services.
Rick attended Newark Central Schools, graduating from Mercersberg Academy 2000. Rick then attended Michigan State University on a swimming Scholarship.
Other than coaching and swimming, Rick enjoyed hunting, music, beer tasting and making, a variety of sports and spending time with his wife Tasha and daughter Ella.
The family requests that Memorials be directed to an educational Fund for daughter Ella Grace Nichols.
