R.C. Brock, 84, died October 31, 2022.
R.C. Brock was born on May 24, 1938, in Grenada, Mississippi to his late parents Mack and Bessie Brock
both of Grenada. He transitioned on October 31, 2022, in Southaven, Mississippi after his battle of
cancer.
The simplest pleasure in life brought great joy to R.C. He loved playing basketball throughout his early
stages of life and watching basketball throughout his later years. Another great joy was his love for
wrestling. You could almost always find R.C. every Monday night in Memphis attending wrestling events
at the Mid-South Coliseum with his children by his side.
R.C.’s masonry brick contracting entrepreneurship landed him a vast array of opportunities throughout
the Memphis area. Many buildings, homes, and concrete monuments still stand today because of his
skilled craftmanship.
Aside from R.C.’s love for basketball, wrestling, westerns, and caring for animals, he loved and cherished
all his children.
He committed his life to Christ at the early age of 12 and often attended Jackson Chapel in Grenada, MS.
R.C. is preceded by his wife Freddie Brock and two of his brothers James Brock and Mack Brock Jr.
R.C. is survived by siblings Charlie (Brenda) Brock, Jimmy (Clarice) Brock, Elizabeth “Liz” King-Stewart,
and Pamela Brock. He leaves behind his children Bonnie Jean Anderson, Ricky Brock, Rodney Brock,
Richard “Terrell” Menzie, Irma “Tina” (Bar-Jona) Henderson, Kenisha Renee’ Brock, Richard Brock,
Jennifer Brock, Charles Brock, R.C. Brock Jr., Charles (Christiana) Latham, and a bonus daughter Sherrika
Davis. Additionally, he leaves behind his significant other Betty Davis-Stroud and a host of
grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
He touched many lives and always will be remembered for his loving spirit, his love for laughter, and his
love for his children.
