On Thursday, September 29, 2022, Orson Morrisett, loving brother, uncle and friend, passed away at the age of sixty-three. His sister Jacqueline Morrisett preceded him in death earlier this year. An avid reader, Orson enjoyed a variety of reading genres and had a passion for knowledge. He was a skilled carpenter and brick mason who loved working with his hands.

He was the third child of four, born to George and Realma Morrisett (both deceased) on October 19, 1958 in Chicago, Illinois. He attended Doolittle Elementary and Dunbar High School. Orson had a love of sports, and it was not unusual to see him cheering on his favorite Chicago teams even if they often lost. After graduating high school he studied masonry to perfect his skills, using this time to spend and work with his father renovating homes. He later moved to Waxahachie, TX where he lived 6 years building green houses for environmental safety.

Orson was dependable, a good cook, best known for his quick-witted humor and comical personality. He studied the Bible at a young age and always had a belief in God. He was the family babysitter, had an aptitude of current affairs, and a friendly spirit, never meeting a stranger.

He leaves to cherish his siblings, Jackie Morrisett (Lorri), Denise Griffin, Monica Morrisett and Jason Morrisett; nieces and nephews, Breanne, Krystal, Maurice, Janel, Keyshawn, Khalil, Kemari, Maurice, Jr., Kentrell, Arabella and Kymbrea. He leaves his aunts: Frances Moran and Joyce Greene, uncle Thomas Ross and a host of cousins, friends, neighbors and loved ones.

“With that I heard a loud voice from the throne say: “Look! The tent of God is with mankind, and he will reside with them, and they will be his people. And God himself will be with them.4 And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.” – Revelation 21:3, 4
