Miea J. Williams, 50, died September 20, 2022.

Miea J Williams ( Momma Bear)transitioned peacefully at Regional One Hospital in Memphis Tennessee September 20th 2022 @ 5:27pm at the age of 50.

Miea was born on September 15th 1972 in Chicago to Ellie and John Williams who both proceeded her in death.

Miea is survived by her three children Somorrah Williams,Dorcus Watson, and Elija Jones. Two brothers Merdeith and Alaric. Three sisters. Athena, Zoe(Linnell Sr.) and Yozette( James). Three nephews. Bree,Linnell Jr.(Brittani) and Terrell. Three niece’s. Kimberly,Alexis and Shanell. One great niece Briell,one great nephew Linnell the 3rd and a host of aunt’s,uncle’s, cousin’s, friends,co-workers and residents.

Miea graduated from Westhinghouse Vocational Highschool in Chicago Illinois 1990. Miea continued her education at Chicago State university receiving her bachelors degree in business education graduating in 1995. Miea then moved to Memphis and decided to further her education at University of Memphis receiving her masters in community agency counseling, graduating in 2011. Miea found employment at the University of Tennessee health and science eye center where she worked as a resident coordinator liaising with external parties,such as vendors and suppliers, organizing activity programs, and developing strategies to optimize operations.

Miea was an individual who loved her children,family and friends. She loved her job and built a strong relationship with the student residents at UT.. Miea would go above and beyond to help anyone.

Miea gave her life to christ at an early age she attended Freedom Baptist church in Chicago. When Miea moved to Memphis she attended Christ the Freedom fellowship, then later continued her spiritual growth at Innovation Church where she served as a dedicated member of the VIP team. Miea also advocated for S.O.A.R sisters overcoming abusive relationships.

The University of Tennessee health and science eye center has thoughtfully named a scholarship in Miea's name. This scholarship is for under represented minorities in medicine, which will provide a stipend to the student rotating at the Hamilton Eye Institute on way elective to compensate for travel,food,and lodging.
