Michael Xavier Shorter, age 33, died June 6, 2021
Michael Xavier Shorter was born to Michael Shorter and Susan Shorter on September 21, 1987, in Chicago, IL.
Mike, as he was affectionately known, attended Coldwater schools, and graduated from Coldwater High School in 2006. He was a member of the Beta Club and actively participated in band, football, baseball, basketball, powerlifting, and track.
Mike continued his education at the University of Mississippi, majoring in Accounting and pursuing his passion for acting, where he declared a second major in Theatre and Dramatic Arts. He became a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., in Spring 2007. While at Ole Miss, he actively participated on the Eta Beta step team, UM marching band, modeling team, UM fashion board, and intramural sports.
Mike's energy and enthusiasm were unmatched and kept people rolling in laughter because he was always the life of the party, even when there was no party! His hobbies included traveling, dancing, partying, weightlifting, and gaming.
Mike passed away on Sunday, June 6, 2021. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Garlan Trotter, Redus Shorter, and Charlotte Butler. Left to cherish his memories are his parents, Michael and Susan; brothers, Steven, Brock, Ross, and Darius; sisters, Tiara, Chanel, and Elizabeth; his grandmother, Bernice Trotter, a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, Phi Beta Sigma fraternity brothers, and special family and friends.
