Obituaries
Marlon E. Boggan, affectionally known as “Phil” was born on May 21, 1961 in Memphis Tennessee. Phil graduated from Hamilton High School in 1980, He joined the US Army after High School where he served a brief term.
He worked as a Security Guard for several different companies during his work life. BUT, His love was music! He went all in when it came to playing the guitar. He played for bands, churches, and other events. He was once called on stage at a Chaka Khan concert to play during the concert.
Phil was a true believer in the Lord Jesus Christ; he loved God. He often talked about the Lord with his mother and others. Since his passing, we have discovered writing by Phil in his own hand writing, professing his belief in and love for Jesus Christ.
He departed this life on Monday, May 8, 2023. He leaves to cherish his memory, his mother, Kay R. Boggan of Memphis, Tennessee, two sisters, Bridgette Boggan of Memphis. Kim (Chris) Lloyd of Mansfield, Texas, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Phil desired to live a happy, peaceful life. We will all miss him, but we have the assurance as it says in 2 Corinthians 55:8 to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.
