Obituary for Marcia Coleman
Marcia Coleman, 57, died July 12, 2018.
Marcia D. Coleman was born April 17, 1961 in Memphis, TN to the proud parents, Sidney and Ernestine Yates. She accepted Christ at a tender age and was baptized at Greater Mt. Zion MB Church by the late Pastor E.V. McGhee. Marcia became a member of Brown Baptist Church in 2016 under the leadership of Sr. Pastor Bartholomew Orr.
Marcia was a dedicated employee of McLane Food Service Distribution for 15 years where she served in many capacities. Her passion was creating gift baskets for multiple occasions (Easter, Graduation, Baby Showers, Weddings, etc.) and they were AMAZING, each reflecting her creativity and love! Marcia also loved to host family gatherings and coordinate workplace functions. Most of all, Marcia had an unmatched, immeasurable gift for putting smiles on the faces of her family and friends.
Marcia leaves to cherish her memories, her parents, her daughter, Courtney Monique Coleman; her three sisters, Deborah (Floyd) Elder, Velvetta (Jasper) Clay, Kemetria Yates; her brother, Gerald Yates; three nieces, Tammikia (Marlon) Matthews, Nekka (Rodrick) Mason, and Meredith Elder; five nephews, Guy (Tammy) Matthews, Byron (Nakia) Matthews, Cedric Yates, Jeremy Clay, and Jordan Clay; and a host of great nieces and nephews, other loving family and friends. Marcia is also preceded in death by her sister, Ernestine Loretta Matthews.
