Maggie Mae Page Rogers was born December 18, 1916 in Tchula, Mississippi to the late Price and Mary Page. She was the youngest of twelve children affectionately known as “Baby Page.” On Thursday, May 31, 2018 she departed this life at 12:35 a.m. at St. Francis Hospital.
Maggie’s commitment to Christ began at an early age and her spiritual journey and church affiliation endured until her death. She was a dedicated member of St. Matthews Missionary Baptist Church for over 46 years under the leadership of Rev. H.H. Harper.
Maggie’s dedication to children was prevalent during her tenure with the Board of Education working in cafeteria services.
Maggie was preceded in death by her parents, Price and Mary Page, her loving husband, Jonah Rogers and her beloved granddaughter Jacqueline Elaine Brownlee Cowley (Grady).
She leaves to cherish her memories: her two daughters, Lora Love Hightower (James Taylor) and Seletha Hannah Franklin (Terrence); her surviving granddaughter, Taylor Synclair Brown; her five great grandchildren, Grady Lee Cowley, Jr., Courtney LeSean Cowley (Janis), Brandon Jermaine Cowley(Tacarra), Jonathan Andre Cowley(Joyce), and Hannah Malaysha Thomas; ten great-great grandchildren; two great-great-great grandchildren as well as many nieces, nephews, more relatives and friends.
