Celebrating the Life of Eva ‘Lillie’ Malone affectionately known as “Mama” & “Biggie”
Let us rejoice and give praises to our heavenly Father Jesus Christ for allowing her to share her life with us for ninety four years.
On the 29th day of March in 1924, in Holly Springs, MS, Henry and Evie Harris became the proud parents of Eva Lillie Malone. She lived all of her childhood in Mississippi along with her nine siblings. Lillie accepted Christ at an early age and attended Hearn Grove Baptist Church.
During this time, she met and would later marry the love of her life, late L.D. Malone in Byhalia, MS. Upon his return from World War II, the two then moved to Memphis, TN where Lillie pursued her education and licensing in Cosmetology. In 1962, they moved to the Southside of Chicago, IL. Her passion for hair and desire to make women feel beautiful, lead her to open up “Lil’s Beauty Salon”. Lillie would then set her curling irons and other hair utensils down in 1995. Even in her later years she would still “fix” your hair if you asked. Calvary Baptist Church, was her church home. Her time here on Earth was filled with love, compassion, forgiveness, and so much more.
Mama was the mother to two beautiful daughters; Tessie Harris-Tally and Janie Malone-Martin; the grandmother to ten grandchildren; Gregory Harris, Cordia Grove, LaQuitta Grove, Torrie Grove, Todd Oliver, Shondra Oliver, LaTonya “Sharae” Oliver, Kyren Oliver (Tessie’s eight), Kevin Malone and Tamara Malone (Janie’s two); the great-grandmother and great-great grandmother to over 60, and come mid April, Mama would have become a great-great-great grandmother…. Now That’s A BLESSING!
Mama entered and received a rich welcome into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, March 16th, 2019. Her husband L.D. Malone; her parents, Henry and Evie Harris; along with her three sisters, Mary Borders, Emma Potts, Lenora Burnette; her four brothers, John Harris, Dave Harris, Elotria Harris, Matt Harris; her grandson, Kevin Malone; some nieces, nephews, cousins along with friends greeted her. Mama leaves behind her family who love her dearly. Mama, you will be truly missed!
