Jose Luis Escobar Rangel (Gordo, Bocho, Josecito) It is with great regret The Escobar Rangel family announces that Jose Luis Escobar Rangel, 57 years old, was called home to God the Father on June 20, 2022, after suffering a stroke and struggling for 6 days in the hospital. Jose Luis was the 3rd of 12 children of Jose Luis Escobar Hernandez (Deceased) and Eva Rangel Gutierrez. He was born on January 22, 1965. Until his death, single never been married, he was in charge of the Latin Football League in Memphis, TN.

Jose Luis was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents,Jose Escobar Rodriguez (Pepe) and Ma. Carmen Hernandez (Mina), maternal grandparents, Antonio Rangel and Prisca Gutierrez (Kika), and his father, Jose Luis Escobar Hernandez. We know they will be waiting for him with open arms along with our Heavenly Father.

He is survived by his loving mother, Eva Rangel Gutierrez, and his siblings: Octavio, Ma Ruth, Rebeca, Edith, Francisco, Raquel Thompson, Eva Loftin, Laura Gibson, Adan, Hugo and Moises Escobar Rangel. His nephews and nieces, Jose Luis, Rafael and Mikel Escobar Plancarte, Erika, Malena and Max Guevara Escobar, Luis Alberto and Andrea Stefanoni Escobar, Anthony, Priscilla and Emma Thompson, Alex, Tristan Loftin, Megan, James Gibson and Ivana Castro Escobar, Emiliano, Paul, and Benjamin Escobar, Franco, Elisa and Bruno Escobar Guzman, Moises Jr. and Mateo Escobar. He is also leaves behind several amazing great-grand nephews and great-grand nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

The word "CHAMPION" is defined as "a person admired for his achievements and noble AND humble qualities". These characteristics describe who Josecito was and how he ultimately met his demise. His positive energy, humbleness and his contagious smile will continue to be remembered. As an organ donor, Jose Luis’s spirit will continue to benefit the lives of others. We also remember him for his unforgettable phrases such as, “Let's go with everything, Who said fear, Arre lulu, This is for the envious.” He will be sadly missed.
The phrase “life is too short” has been proven once again. Remember, there is no guarantee that tomorrow will come to correct mistakes.

Arrangements are as follows:
Visitation will be Friday, July 1, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Serenity Funeral Home,1638 Sycamore View Road, Memphis TN 38134
And Saturday July 2 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anne Catholic Church, 706 S. Highland St, Memphis TN 38111. A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 12:00 p.m. at St. Anne Catholic Church.
Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery 5668 Poplar Ave. Memphis TN 38119. Memories, thoughts and prayers can be extended to the family by visiting Serenity Funeral Home or attendant to the Mass on Saturday at St. Anne Catholic Church.

José Luis Escobar Rangel (Gordo, Bocho, Josecito) Con gran pesar La familia Escobar Rangel comunica que José Luis Escobar Rangel, de 57 años, fue llamado a casa de Dios Padre el 20 de junio de 2022 luego de sufrir un derrame cerebral y luchar por 6 días en el hospital. José Luis fue el tercero de 12 hijos de José Luis Escobar Hernández (fallecido) y Eva Rangel Gutiérrez. Nació el 22 de enero de 1965. Hasta su muerte, soltero nunca casado, estuvo a cargo de la Liga Latina de Fútbol en Memphis, TN.

A José Luis le precedieron en la muerte sus abuelos paternos, José Escobar Rodríguez (Pepe) y Ma. Carmen Hernandez (Mina), abuelos maternos, Antonio Rangel y Prisca Gutierrez (Kika), y su padre, Jose Luis Escobar Hernandez. Sabemos que lo estarán esperando con los brazos abiertos junto con nuestro Padre Celestial.

Le sobreviven su amada madre, Eva Rangel Gutiérrez, y sus hermanos: Octavio, Ma Ruth, Rebeca, Edith, Francisco, Raquel Thompson, Eva Loftin, Laura Gibson, Adán, Hugo y Moises Escobar Rangel. Sus sobrinos y sobrinas, José Luis, Rafael y Mikel Escobar Plancarte, Erika, Malena y Max Guevara Escobar, Luis Alberto y Andrea Stefanoni Escobar, Anthony, Priscilla y Emma Thompson, Alex, Tristan Loftin, Megan, James Gibson e Ivana Castro Escobar, Emiliano, Paul y Benjamin Escobar, Franco, Elisa y Bruno Escobar Guzman, Moises Jr. y Mateo Escobar. También deja atrás a varios sobrinos bisnietos y sobrinas bisnietas, tías, tíos, primos y amigos asombrosos.

La palabra "CAMPEÓN" se define como "una persona admirada por sus logros y cualidades nobles Y humildes". Estas características describen quién era Josecito y cómo finalmente encontró su muerte. Su energía positiva, humildad y su sonrisa contagiosa seguirán siendo recordadas. Como donante de órganos, el espíritu de José Luis seguirá beneficiando la vida de los demás. También lo recordamos por sus inolvidables frases como, “Vamos con todo, Quién dijo miedo, Arre lulu, Esto es para los envidiosos”. Será tristemente extrañado.
La frase “la vida es demasiado corta” ha quedado demostrada una vez más. Recuerde, no hay garantía de que él mañana llegue para corregir errores.

El velorio será el viernes 1 de julio de 2022 de 5:00 p. m. a las 7:00 p. m. en Serenity Funeral Home, 1638 Sycamore View Road, Memphis TN 38134
El sábado 2 de julio a las 10:00 a. m. en la Iglesia Católica St. Anne, 706 S. Highland St, Memphis TN 38111. Se celebrará una Misa de Resurrección a las 12:00 p. m. en la Iglesia Católica St. Anne.
El entierro seguirá en Memorial Park Cemetery 5668 Poplar Ave. Memphis TN 38119. Los recuerdos, pensamientos y oraciones se pueden extender a la familia visitando Serenity Funeral Home o asistiendo a la Misa el sábado en la Iglesia Católica St. Anne.
