Obituary for Jennifer N. Kouy
Jennifer N. Kuoy, 59, died July 23, 2018.
Jennifer was born in a time of peace to a mother that knew how to show her love. She grew up as a teen in a time of genocide and forced starvation. She escaped a country that continued to be at war and ruins long after. What she brought to her new country was more precious than gold and more powerful than an army. She brought that love that was shown to her.
This country was a new start but a struggle still. She was independent and determined. She wanted to make sure her kids were safe and never knew hunger like she did. But more than anything, she wanted to make sure that they knew they were loved.
During the last few months of her life it was clear to everyone who knew her that she was a woman after God's own heart. Reading God's word was difficult, for her eyes were weak, but singing his praise was far from difficult. Her communication to the rest of the world was through a little smartphone.
Everyday with that little phone there were worship songs being played on her favorite app, YouTube. The Cambodian songs she played on it help her sing to him who she could not wait to meet. She sang it with a language of joy. Despite the suffering endured from beginning to end, she was loved and she still knew how to love. She especially loved him, the one that truly help her through it all, God the Father in heaven.
May God be the glory.
