Obituary for Gerrick Leakes
Gerrick Leakes, 56, died February 5, 2017.
Mr. Gerick “Greg” Leon Leakes was born on March 8, 1960, to Geneva Leakes and the late Jesse Leakes. He was a graduate of Melrose High School and later enlisted in the Navy.
He confessed a hope in Christ at an early age and later became a member of St. Paul MB Church of Olive Branch, Mississippi.
Gerick departed this life on Sunday, February 5, 2017. A sister, Yvonnia Saulsberry of Memphis preceded him in death. He leaves to cherish his memory a loving wife, Janis Leakes; two daughters, Sheila (Jefferey) Street and Jalissa Leakes; one son, Gerick Leakes II; a loving father and mother, Chester and Geneva Williams; five sisters, Roselyn (John) Ishmeal, Cherry (Leon) Morris, Jessica Matheny, all of Memphis, Jujuanna Leakes, and Angie Lewis of Indianapolis; four brothers, Terry, Jesse (Eva) Leakes , Michael (Ronda) Leakes of Memphis and Juan Leakes of Indianapolis; five grandchildren, DeAndre, Kaley, Taylor, Gerick III, and Morgan; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
