Obituary for Fred O'Connor
Fred O'Connor, 64, died March 29, 2019.
Fred William O’Connor, known as “Jimmy,” was born July 30, 1954 in Humboldt, Tennessee to Elizabeth Marie O’Connor and James William O’Connor Jr.
Jimmy was raised by Robert Lee and Freddie Mae Schalk, but loved by a large extended family of aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Jimmy grew up in Chicago, Illinois, which lead him to be an avid Chicago Bears fan.
Jimmy was an over the road truck driver for many years. Then, after moving to Bartlett, TN, Jimmy brought a part of his Chicago life to Tennessee. He opened Jimmy's Chicago Style Dogs, which was his passion.
Jimmy leaves behind his children; Lisa (William) Smith, Greg O’Connor, Kyle (Lupi) O’Connor, Matthew O’Connor, and Shannon Egan Fisher; two step-sons, Will (Jessica) Shanks and Michael Shanks; sister, Lynn Strauch; brother, John Pitts; many grandchildren; a very special aunt, Juanita Campbell; and dear friend, Tom Garrett. Jimmy will be loved and missed by all, however, knowing that he is now blessed to be with his family that passed before him including his loving wife, Sherry, has provided great comfort.
