Darlene Ann Brooks, age 53, died August 25, 2021.
Darlene Brooks, 53, passed away on August 25, 2021. She is survived by two daughters; Charlisse Rodgers (Brandon) and Rachel Brooks (Jonathan Wright) as well as 4 grandchildren (Brandon Rodgers II, Elyse Rodgers, Ava-Rose Rodgers and Adriel Wright).
Darlene was born September 19, 1967 in Memphis, TN to Flora Flaggs Brooks and Eddie Brooks Sr. She graduated from Central High School in Memphis, TN and enrolled in the Army at the age of 17. After working as a Chaplain Assistant, serving her country overseas and receiving a medal for Sharp Shooter, she was honorably discharged at the age of 22.
After arriving home from her base in Louisiana, she spent the next several years with her daughters who she loved dearly and her mom until she passed in 2014. Darlene loved to have fun! She was of free spirit and loved to laugh. She enjoyed attending church and had a big love for God. Anytime she could, she would buy gifts for her children and grandchildren to make them smile.
Although her parents preceded in death, she leaves to cherish in her memory: older brothers; Nathaniel Mattox, Jerome Brooks and Steven Brooks preceded her in death, she leaves to cherish her memory; two sisters (Gloria Brooks Carson and Mary Brooks), 6 brothers (Willie Mattox Sr. (Becky), Roosevelt Brooks Sr., Eddie Brooks Jr. (Mary), Paul Brooks Sr., David Brooks (Jackie), Michael Brooks (Citas) and a multitude of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
