Obituary for Charles Christopher Bowen, Jr.
Charles Christopher Bowen, Jr., 70, died June 21, 2016.
Charles C. Bowen, Jr. was a blessing born to Willie Mae Bluitt and Charles Christopher Bowen, Sr. on June 6, 1946.
He professed his faith in Christ at Pentecostal Temple COGIC at an early age.
In 1976 he married Geraldine Glass. To this union a daughter, Akiemi, was born. His wife preceded him in death.
In 1977 he left Memphis moving to California to pursue his career as an OTR truck driver , until his health forced him into retirement.
He leaves to cherish his memory two daughters, Akiemi Bowen and Tara Tyler; three sons, Shenard Tyler, Christopher Burris and Zion Burris; seven step-children, Vickie McKenzie, Sharon Tyler, Anthony Tyler, Lelon Tyler, Shaun Glass, Tricie Glass and Marcus Mays; and forty (40) grandchildren. He leaves two (2) brothers, Milton Bluitt (Gwen) and Anthony McDonald (Deborah); two (2) sisters Jacequlin Churrubbs (Wiley) and Gerlean White. He also leaves a lifetime friend Betty Mae Tyler and a host of other nieces and nephews.
