Obituary for Averine Chisem
Averine Chisem. 91, died July 7, 2018.
Averine Chisem was born March 5, 1927 in Minter City, MS to George Jackson and Rosie King.
She gave her life to Christ at an early age. She was a long-standing usher at Hunter Avenue Missionary Baptist Church.
Averine was a true Matriarch of this family. She touched so many lives in her lifetime.
She was a kind and loving person often called “Mommy” by anyone who met her. Never a stranger did she meet and she always welcomed everyone into her home. Her selflessness and sacrifice was to anyone in need. If she could do anything, she could feed you. If you needed a shirt she would give you that too. Anyone who met her would say she was one of a kind and would give you her last.
Her father and mother preceded her in death. She leaves to cherish her memories, her brother, L.C. Jackson; daughters, Denise Hamb (Roosevelt) of Atlanta GA, Dr. Sharon Peters (Joseph) of Montgomery AL, Laverne Collier (Gregory) of Jeanette Ark, and Valerie Henderson of Memphis TN; grandchildren, Averine Hamb, Vanessa Hamb, Marico Talley, Stephen Vaughn, Kevin Vaughn, Brian Collier, Brandon Collier, Larita Hines, Calvin Wilhite, Jr (“Coo” deceased), Candice Batts, Eric Henderson II, and Frederick Henderson. She also leaves 18 great grandchildren and a host of relatives, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
